Area Map
Located at the southernmost tip of Kii peninsula, Nachi-katsuura is famous for its mild climate throughout the year. It has many spiritual power spots such as Nachi-kumano Taisha, a shrine which is a part of the Kumano-Sanzan, the three grand shrines in Kumano area designated as the world heritage, Nachi water fall, the magnificent 100m waterfall, and Nachizan Seigantozi, a temple famous for three-story pagoda. The driveway alongside the coast is a famous scenic drive and on the way through, fresh sea foods are available at Katsuura fishing port. Talking of hot springs, Nachi-katsuura is second to none for its uniqueness, for instance, of an open-air bath using natural rock on the beach, an in-the-cave hot spring bath and so on. You can enjoy various types of natural hot springs.
