Succulent sashimi made with fresh seasonal seafood sourced directly from fishermen

Jijii serves sashimi made from brilliantly hand-selected fish that comes directly from Fudai and Sado (villages in North Sanriku), and seasonal seafood bought by head chef Mr. Oka every morning at Tsukiji Fish Market. Enjoy the freshness that gives the fish a melt-in-your-mouth texture and a flavor that grows as you chew. Mr. Oka sources freshly-caught fish directly from fishermen. Jijii is able to serve high-quality, rare seafood at reasonable prices because Mr. Oka has long-standing relationships with fishermen, particularly those in Fudai village, Iwate prefecture. Mr. Oka says: “Even people who hate fish say that they can eat the food we serve. I am not bound by preconceived ideas about Japanese cuisine.” Even now, he challenges himself to come up with new dishes every day. He also says that he often picks up cooking tips from his conversations with visitors to the restaurant. The head chef remarks: “I want my customers to understand how delicious the parts of the fish that are not used in the main meal can be.” Customers can discover new dishes every time they visit because the menu changes according to the catch that day.
