Discover new ways to enjoy Uji tea through exciting combinations with French cuisine dishes, such as our stuffed tongue sole with matcha two-colored sauce.

In a challenging endeavor to unite Uji tea with French cuisine, we came up with this recipe after much trial and error, a truly innovative dish of which we are quite proud. Tongue sole is stuffed with additional tongue sole prepared in a mousse-like form, and mixed with matcha powder green tea, offering fresh aromas and vivid green coloring. We strive to offer our customers new ways to enjoy Uji tea through such exciting combinations with traditional French cuisine dishes. In Fukujuen's Kyoto flagship store, you can explore world-renowned Fukujuen Uji tea culture from the basement floor all the way up to the building's 6th floor. But don't forget to visit the 9th floor, where you'll get to discover new ways to enjoy tea through the creative dishes of our restaurant. We get many local customers, but also visitors from all over Japan and even from abroad. Most of our guests are women seeking to enjoy a refined meal in an unhurried atmosphere, yet private dining rooms are also available on the 9th floor, ideal venues for weekend dinner parties.
