Wajima
Wajima City is located at the west part of the Noto Peninsula, sticking out into the Sea of Japan. There are two popular attractions in Wajima, a wajima-nuri and a morning market. The morning market opens at 8:00 every morning. It has a history of more than 1,000 years, and fresh vegetables and sea foods are available as well as curios, souvenirs, and groceries. An array of shops are lining in the Honcho-street. Traditional artifact, wajima-nuri wares are exhibited at Wajima Museum of Urushi Art. Wajima is also known for its natural wonders, such as beautiful Senmaida, or tiered rice paddies on the sea side slope, mysterious singing sand at Kotogahama beach, where sands produce sound when stepped on, and Hegura Island, the paradise for wild birds.
