Taga Taisha Shrine
Taga Shrine is said to the the oldest shrine in the region. It has enshrined Izanaginomikoto, one of the oldest gods in Japan, who is believed to create mountains, rivers, grasses, trees and various Gods. It is a highly spiritual place and answers for prayers for longevity, recovery from disease, childbirth and health. More than 30 of the stone artifacts in the precinct were crafted 1000 years ago, such as Korean stonemen, stone lanterns and stone towers. Alongside the shrine, there is a museum called Dekoboko sindo which exhibits more than ten thousand of showpieces for sex-related objects, ethnicities, and documents from all over the world. It is built base on the spirit that “Sex is a source of religion, philosophy, morality, science, and life.” Visitors under 20 years old are not allowed to enter.
