Kasayama
Mt. Kasayama is the smallest volcano in Japan with the height of 112 meters, situated on a peninsula about eight kilometers north of Hagi’s city center.At its summit is a small crater of that measures just 30 meters in diameter and depth, which visitors can descend into via a flight of stairs or circle around via a short path in about two minutes From the observation platform on the summit you can overlook the beautiful sea view including the islands making up the Abukuma volcanic group for which Kasayama itself belongs to. You can have a stroll on Kasayama Nature Research Path and experience the great nature on the island including a cave where the temperature is kept around 9-13℃ even during the summer, and gregarious camellias.
