Sake sommelier guides you to the world of Sake. Enjoy food and sake, learn, and get certified as “NIHONSYU (Sake) Navigator.”
We invite a professional sake master, KIKISAKE-SHI (sake sommelier) as an instructor, and the master will lecture you on how to choose sake and how to enjoy them. At the event, you will also enjoy the pairing food with sake, and a professional will guide you through. Moreover, learn about the difference and features on different types of sake by experiencing comparative tasting. At the end of event, you will achieve a “NIHONSYU Navigator Certificate,” officially licensed by Sake Service Institute (SSI).
Comparative tasting of 8 different flavors of sake.
The pairing food varies depending on which type of sake.
Sake Sommelier will lecture on what food goes well with which type of sake.
The lecture will take place along with the English textbook. At the end of the event, you will be certified as “NIHONSYU Navigator” and receive a certification card.

6:00 – 7:00 / NIHONSYU Navigator Lecture: Learn and get knowledge of Sake by professional ※English textbook will be provided, and an English-speaking assistant will be there to support you.
7:00 – 8:30 / Experience the tasting and pairing food: Apply your knowledge and enjoy tasting different kinds of Sake with food for the best match!
- Instructor: Itaba, Masayoshi [Director of Food & Beverage Specialists Organization (FBO) / Director of Sake Service Institute (SSI)]
After more than 10 years of experience accumulated at Hotel and French restaurant, Mr. Itaba became a specialist trainer on FBO.
He is an expert not only on sake, shocyu, or wine, but also other areas such as spirits, Chinese alcohol drinks, cheese, and even cigar. His lecture receives high reputation on providing a clear understanding of sake approached by the comparison with other articles of taste, based on his wide and deep knowledge.
