Komatsu city is the center of the Hokuriku industrial zone and well-known for its tradition, kabuki, a Japanese classical drama. At Otabi Festival is held in May, which has 360 years of history, you can experience the gorgeous eight festival floats move along in the streets and line up side by side before the climax. Those beaming golden floats suddenly turn to the stage for kodomo kabuki, a Japanese classical drama played by children. It is rare to be acted by girls in kabuki tradition. However, the performance draws cheers and screams from spectators, their flashy costumes and well-trained dance performances capture the hearts of visitors.
