Miyagi offers you many places to visit such as Sanriku, the sawtooth costline of of Sanriku, Matsushima, one of the most beautiful sceneries of Japan, widely known Naruko hot spring, and the overwhelming Zao mountain range. The most exciting event of all at Sendai is Sendai Tanabata Matsuri Festival in August. The festival has long been lasted since Edo era. The shopping street extending from the JR Sendai station is decorated gorgeously, and many enjoyable events are held here and there. If you are lucky enough to visit Sendai in August, enjoy the festival with a long history.
