A town where the American & Japanese cultures are harmonized.
Area Map

The entrance to Tokyo Bay - Yokosuka City occupies the majority of the Miura Peninsula. The city is known for the naval ports of the US Navy and the SDF. The Dobuita-Dori (drainage covering boards' street) extending from in front of the base gate used to be a shopping street mainly designed to attract the US Navy soldiers. Now the shopping street is the center of Yokosuka's culture as a stylish shopping street where the two cultures are harmonized. The local specialties "Yokosuka Navy Curry" and "Yokosuka Navy Burger" are very popular foods and you can taste them anywhere in the city. Also Yokosuka is a city of many parks including Mikasa Park where the flagship of the Imperial Japanese Navy at the time of Russo-Japanese War (1904-1905), HIJMS MIKASA, is maintained and exhibited as a memorial ship.
