Niigata Area Map

Niigata
Niigata is well-known for the highest class “Uonuma Koshihikari” brand rice. Good rice makes good sake - from nationally known breweries to small ones, there are many sake breweries in the prefecture. Japanese crested ibis, once extinct bird, has been bred and released in the Sado Island -- if you are lucky, you can view the bird.
