Arita is a beautiful bucolic town and is the first place where porcelains were produced. As the birthplace of porcelains, there are many sightseeing spots relating to pottery. Many workshops show you how to craft a pottery and you can take a close look at the skillful craftsmen’s works. Museums, potteries, and galleries in ceramic shops are spotted in the area, where parks, walking tracks, and a lakeside resort are well-organized too. You can also enjoy strolling in a beautiful nature there. The street in the valley is called Arita Sengen, which means many houses, and designated as An Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings.
