Sado History Museum is a facility where both adults and children can experience the history and the life of Sado 800 years ago with a guidance of life-sized animatronic puppets. The animatronic puppets reenact historical events and local legends, making your knowledge deeper. There is a facility that displays the works of a famous wax model metalworker Sasaki Shodo who was born in Sado and was designated as an Important Intangible Cultural Asset. You can directly experience his works of art. At the souvenir shop, there are limited items which are based on Shodo’s representative work “Zuicho,” in addition to a range of products that represent Sado Island. At the restaurant, you can taste rich sea foods while looking out over the beautiful Japanese style garden.
