If you ask somebody in Nagoya for recommended places to go, Higashiyama Zoo & Botanical Gardens will be one of the top places they recommend. Everybody, both children and grown-ups, will no doubt be fully satisfied with the place. At the zoo facility there are more than 500 species including popular animals such as koalas and gorillas, and at the botanical garden there are about 7,000 species of plants. You can even see rare tropical plants in the large greenhouse. In addition to the zoo and the botanical gardens, an amusement park and Higashiyama Sky Tower are placed in the vast 600,000 square meters site. One day is not enough to experience everything, and that is why the site is always lively with the locals and tourists who repeatedly visit here to find new enjoyments.
