Sushi Shirahata

This is a popular dish featuring delicious in-season seafood caught at Sanriku Coast. A fine selection of toppings are available, such as tuna akami, tuna chutoro, toro fatty tuna, fleshy melt in your mouth boiled conger eel, sea urchin, abalone, botan shrimp, and more.

This dish is made using Pacific octopus from Sanriku Coast, seasoned before cooking. The flavorful octopus is tender and has a moderate, gentle taste. The accompanying daikon radish is boiled using the leftover broth, giving it all of the savory flavors of the octopus.

This is a pickled dish originally enjoyed by fishermen, featuring sardine loaded with condiments such as daikon radish, spring onion and Japanese ginger. Bonito or horse mackerel may be used depending on the season. The sour flavoring, made from citrus fruits, goes incredibly well with the fish, making this dish one that regulars insist on ordering.
