Gero is well known as a hot spring heaven. There are 8 attractive hot spring areas in the city including Gero hot spring, Dakugawa hot spring, Yuya hot spring Shimojima hot spring and Hidagawa hot spring. Footbaths and communal bathhouses are everywhere in the city which attract many tourists, especially 10 footbaths in Gero hot spring are highly recommended, you can travel around these variety of footbaths. What’s more, most of those footbaths are free of charge.
