Area Map

“Fire Country” Kumamoto's symbol is Mt. Aso. Mt. Aso is one of the largest volcanos in the world, consisting of five Aso mountains including Neko, Taka, Naka, Kishima, and Eboshi. The world's first ropeway on a volcano brings you to the crater rim in four minutes. You can look down the unique desolate land and the grandeur caldera from the rim. There are many facilities you can enjoy in the rich nature, including a ranch where you can enjoy horse riding, an outdoor sport area where you can experience a paraglider or a hot-air balloon, and a zoo where you can play with animals. Also you can taste the local specialties including Akaushi beef, horse-meat sashimi, and a variety of tofu dishes.
