Hita
Abundance of water and rich nature. Historic townscape and traditional cultures.
Area Map
Hita City is surrounded by beautiful Aso-Kuju mountains and Hikone mountains, and has prospered as a transportation hub with abundance of water and rich nature. During the Edo Period the domain was under direct control of the shogun, making it the political, economic, and cultural center of Kyushu Region. The townscape reminds you of the Edo ambience, and you can experience traditional cultures such as a cormorant fishing on a houseboat. Another attractive feature is the Hita hot spring. Every hotel and Japanese-style inns will welcome you with warm reception. The hot spring is said to have efficacy for rheumatism, neuralgia, and recovery from exhaustion. Why don’t you have a relaxing time and release yourself from the stressful daily life?
