Himi City is rich in nature with a blue ocean and green land. Himi fishing port is proud of its haul of fish, 156 types of fishes are caught, and especially Pacific Bluefin Tunas in summer, Himi Pilchards, Winter Yellowtails are popular. Winter Yellowtail are called the King of Toyama Bay, that taste will be unforgettable. Other recommendations are; the open-air hot spring in Himi Hot Spring Resort, you can see the snow-capped Mount Tateyama over the Sea of Japan while relaxing in the hot spring. Many unique festivals are held in Himi, including a famous Gongon Matsuri, Marumage Matsuri in which single women with oval chignon on tops meander through the town, and lion dances in spring and fall with rhythmical drumbeats and notes of flutes. Every season Himi stimulates your five senses.
