Densyo-en was established to preserve the agricultural life style of Tono area. In the compound, there is a designated National Important Property, Kikuchi No Magariya, a stable connected to a house that was built around 1750. At Kikuchi No Magariya, youcan see many traditional tools and goods used in the Edo Period. Storytelling is performed around the Japanese traditional hearth and a storyteller address folktales. At Kogeikan, local elderly wemen teach you how to manufacture the local toys such as Umakko, strew works, and Otedama, ball-shape bean-bags. When you are hungry, traditional Tono foods are offered at the restaurant.
