A traditional hot spring resort, Atami is in a day trip distance from Tokyo. At Atami Plum Garden you can enjoy more than 700 plum trees which bloom the earliest in Japan. The Plum Festival held in January to March gather many visitors. Another attraction you can never miss is MOA Museum of Art. As many as overwhelming 3,500 exhibits centered on the oriental art are displayed, including Japanese-style paintings, chinaware, dyeing and sculptures, and some of which are designated National Treasure or Important Cultural Properties.
