Just one station, twenty-minute away from Shinjuku Station by an express train, Nakano is a residential town with lively, traditional shopping streets. On Nakano Sunmall shopping street which is directly extending from Nakano Station, approximately 50 stores are providing items essential to the locals' lives including pharmacies, fishmongers and dressmakers as well as other items like used cameras. On the side streets, there are many shops serving a wide variety of foods and drinks including taverns, ramen, diner and western-style restaurants.
