Mr. Ota works tirelessly to bring out the best of the ingredients in each dish.
Mr. Ota was born in Kyoto in 1996. Preferring to cook and eat his own food rather than eat out, he spent his early years enjoying making food every day. To study cuisine more seriously, he enrolled in a cooking school in Kyoto. He then spent 12 years training at local Japanese BBQ restaurants and other establishments, learning the basics of handling and preparing meat. The owner of his current restaurant recognized his experience and invited him to join. Steak Kanname opened in March 2026, marking a new step in his career as a chef.
