A space that takes mainstream French cuisine from the 90s made from carefully-selected ingredients and continually refines it without getting carried away.
[Bistro Sans Le Sou] has been popular in Nishiogikubo ever since its opening more than 20 years ago. It is a community-based restaurant with local regulars typically taking up about half of the seats. The food is authentic French cooked using the techniques the head chef learned in France in the 90s. Carefully-selected ingredients from domestic and overseas sources are transformed into deep and flavorful dishes through classical cooking methods such as pairing with painstakingly-crafted sauces. The menu for both lunch and dinner is a fixed course that includes an appetizer, main dish, and dessert chosen from a variety of options. Each menu has sufficient volume with abundant variations. In addition, the restaurant makes an extensive selection of bread, cheese, tea, and herbal tea in house. The restaurant balances just the right amount of sophistication with a laid back atmosphere, making it suitable for both a special anniversary and a casual night out.
