From the chef

Mr. Takeyama felt joy in pleasing his family as a boy, which led him to pursue a career in cuisine.

Unawa Honten Nagoya Station_Takahiko Takeyama

He was born in 1971 in Aichi. Encouraged by his parents' high praise of his cooking, he decided to pursue a career in the culinary arts. Determined to become a chef, he visited the culinary association office alone while still wearing his uniform, without consulting his family. He then started his career as a chef. Instead of staying long-term at a specific renowned establishment, he has participated in exhibitions throughout Aichi Prefecture and across the nation, gaining recognition as a head chef, master instructor, and recipient of the Master Craftspersons of Aichi (Master Chef of Owari). After experiencing a traditional Japanese restaurant, he is currently working at Unawa.
