Why do people eat Otaru Ankake Yakisoba in Otaru now? One of the answers is here at Kakuryu!
Kakuryu is conveniently located at the entrance of Otaru Denuki-koji and near Otaru Canal. The recommended dish is Otaru's local gourmet "Ankake Fried Noodles." It has been featured on TV and is one of Otaru's specialties, along with sushi and Kaisen-don (seafood bowls.) Kakuryu's signature starchy sauce is rich and thick, combining a luxurious chicken broth made exclusively from chicken thighs and soup extracted from the flavor of more than 10 different ingredients. In addition, "Wagyu Ankake Fried Noodles," using wagyu beef from affiliate Wagyu Kurosawa and "Grilled Eel & Wagyu Rice Bowl," in which you can enjoy both eel and wagyu beef at one time, are also popular. Signs in Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean are posted at the entrance, as well as a ticket vending machine for ordering. The restaurant only has counter seating, and children and adults are welcome. It is a must for lunch or a light meal in Otaru!
