A lifelong artisan chef devoted to the time-honored Japanese tradition of Yakitori.

Mr. Minami was born in 1967 in Okayama. He spent his twenties building a decade-long career as a chef before turning his focus to Yakitori. He trained at several renowned restaurants in Tokyo, honing his skills. After gaining further experience in Kyobashi, he opened his restaurant, Yakitori Minami, in Kitashinchi in 2015. His dishes soon earned a strong reputation among discerning diners. In 2024, he changed the restaurant's name to Yakitori Minami and relocated to Tenjimbashisuji 6-chome. He has embraced the motto of a lifelong artisan, dedicating his life to Yakitori to preserve this iconic dish as part of Japan's culinary culture.
