The best sightseeing attraction in Kaga is undoubtedly the hot spring -- there are 4 great hot springs in the area. Firstly Awazu hot spring that has 1,300 years of history, which is the oldest one in the region. Secondly Katayamazu hot spring, which wells up from the bottom of the lake Shibayamagata and the color of which changes seven times a day. Thirdly, Yamasiro hot spring the efficacy of which works for longevity. Finally, Yamanaka hot spring which has been loved by many Japanese traditional artists and the location is known as Kutani-yaki no sato, or the home of Kutani ware, a colorful porcelain produced in Hokuriku area. These hot springs are called Kaga 4 hot springs and the underground water of sacred mountain Hakusan wells up from the grounds. Each hot spring area has own sightseeing spots worth visiting including historic sites and museums. It’s the best place to refresh yourself.
