Miyazaki Prefectural Museum of Nature and History

Miyazaki Prefectural Museum of Nature and History is divided into three sections; History of Nature Exhibition Hall that exhibits items about flora and fauna and geology, History Hall that exhibits historical materials from the Paleolithic Era to the present era, and Ethnology Hall that exhibits materials related to Miyazaki’s traditional cultures including Shinto music and songs (kagura), making visitors comprehensively learn about Miyazaki Prefecture. In the Private House Park next to the main museum building, four restored private houses are exhibited. In Miyazaki, houses used to be built in the region-specific architectural style, and selected traditional houses from Gokasecho, Shiibason, Nishimerason, and Takaharucho towns have been dismantled and reconstructed here. You can enter each house and take a look.
