Iyakei Canyon
The canyon which looks like fire-burning in fall by colored leaves.
Area Map

Iyakei is a deep, V-shaped valley, where an emerald green river is running through at the bottom and steep cliffs might give you a dizziness. The best season to visit is the fall - from the bottom of the valley to the top of the mountain, everything is turned to red and yellow. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery from a bus or car. Shoben-iwa (pee rock) is sticking out from the cliff along the Iya River, where a Manikin Pis statue is placed based on a story that local kids and travelers used to test their courage by standing on the rock. Iya no Kazurabashi, a bridge designated as an Important Tangible Folk-cultural Property, is very romantic at night by the light-up service.
