Area Map

Okuiya Niju Kazurabashi Bridge is located in a deep valley. It is said to have been built some 800 years ago by the Heike clan, a family which had absolute power in those days, for horse-riding practice. Now the bridge is utilized as a path to a camping site. It consists of two bridges and it is also called a couple bridge consisting of the Otokobashi, a male bridge, and the Onnabashi, a female bridge. The Otokobashi is restored by renovating the bridge which used as a life road then. The Onnabashi, a bit smaller than the Otokobashi, is located at upper stream. At the side of the Onnabashi, a manual ropeway Nozaru is equipped to help passers to go across the river. The view from the bridge is breathtaking with untouched forests and the clear water.
