Ishinomaki City was devastated by the earth quake on May 11th 2011 and still on a recovery process. There are several sightseeing spots such as Ishinomaki Mangattan Museum which exhibits the works of a famous cartoonist, the late Ishinomori Shotaro. and Kinkazan, a sacred spot where it is believed that you will be no problem with money if you visit there three years in a row. The most recommended spot is Ishinomaki, Daishinsai-no-anabi-no-Annai. Volunteer guides will escort you to the disaster stricken areas and describe what really happened.
