Proudly serving dishes made with directly sourced Awaji Wakasa fish and Kyoto vegetables: A Kappo restaurant in Gion, located at the back of a narrow alley.
Gionshinbashi Nakatani is nestled quietly at the end of a narrow alley near the famous Tatsumi Bridge in Kyoto Gion. As a perfect hideout, it has a quaint atmosphere that is unique to the Gion area. The owner, a dedicated chef with over 20 years of experience in Japanese cuisine, expertly serves dishes that showcase the changing seasons using fresh seafood delivered directly from Awaji Island and Wakasa Bay and seasonal Kyoto vegetables sourced from local farms. The restaurant's interior, with its beautiful white wooden counter, is cozy yet has the atmosphere of a traditional Kyoto machiya townhouse. The sunken kotatsu-style seating area is also available. This tranquil restaurant is ideal for various occasions, whether romantic dates, special celebrations, or business gatherings. It's also a perfect place for entertaining guests from overseas.
