Area Map
The facility used to be a residence of a big soy sauce producer, the Egami’s, in Edo Period. The main house and a storehouse built 200 years ago have been renovated as a museum. In the facility there are many materials explaining the history and culture of the island. The museum is a must-visit to understand the history of the island of religious faith and sightseeing. The corridor surrounding the Japanese style garden is very characteristic - some parts of the building are registered as tangible cultural properties. At first glance, the building seems to be simple, but actually it's a treasure house of many valuable materials.
