Area Map

It is not widely known among tourists from outside Japan that the Imperial Palace, the Emperor's residence, was originally built by the 1st shogun Ieyasu Tokugawa as his castle. Though it is located at the center of Tokyo, the Imperial Palace is an oasis with many trees and surrounded by a moat where water birds take a rest. It is also famous for cherry blossoms, and you can enjoy the beautiful cherry blossoms along the moat at the beginning of spring. You can walk around the spacious garden and explore the history of Japan found here and there without any reservation. However, you have an option to make a reservation for a guided tour inside the Imperial Palace. Why don't you take advantage of the rare opportunity?
