Area Map

Kembu is one of Japan's traditional performing arts, a dance with a sword "katana" and a Japanese fan in harmony with Japanese- and Chinese-style poems. It is said to have been developed and sophisticated by incorporating swordsmanship and samurai etiquette.
Samurai Kembu Theater is the only one of its kind facility where you can watch and experience Japan's traditional Kembu, sword dance. You will wear samurai costume and learn the sword dance with a practice sword in your hands. Most of the lesson is conducted in English. Therefore you can learn how to handle the sword as well as samurai etiquette step-by-step while understanding the meaning of each movement.
From one-hour beginner's program to a full-scale, high-quality program, a range of programs are available. If you are interested in gaining a deeper understanding of Japan's culture and history, this is the place.
