Mr. Deguchi was born in 1985 in Nagasaki Prefecture and grew up near the sea. So, fresh seafood was always on the table from a young age. After tasting various fish dishes, he decided to become a sushi chef handling fresh fish and moved to Tokyo. After 2 years of training at a sushi restaurant in Ginza, he was invited by a senior chef he admired to work at the affiliated restaurant where he now works. Born in Mie prefecture, in 1968. His parents loved sushi and the like, so they raised him in a "gourmet family." They were very interested in the world of food. He also decided to work in the food business, and started work at a hotel after he graduated high school. He polished his skills in Japanese, French, and other styles of cooking. Through his fascination for the proud local specialty of his hometown, Matsusaka Gyuu ushi, he came to work for the long-standing Matsusaka ushi (beef) specialty restaurant, "Asahi-ya," which further deepened his specialty knowledge. His experience up to this point culminates in the Matsusaka ushi specialty restaurant, "Matsusaka Gyuu Amiyaki Okuyama," which he opened in Yokaichi city.

In 2016, he opened Kashiwanoki in his hometown. The restaurant was flooded by the typhoon in October 2019 and forced to close, but with the support of many people, it reopened a year later. As his family owned a traditional Japanese confectionery shop, he grew up watching his grandfather and father, both confectioners and naturally aspired to follow in their footsteps. Trained at "Chou" in Nagoya and opened his own confectionery shop, Kasho Hanakikyo Nagoya Nohgakudo hōsa Branch. Located on the first floor of the Nagoya Noh Theater, where Noh and Kyogen plays are performed, the shop gained popularity as a place to enjoy traditional wagashi after experiencing Japanese culture.
