Mr.Togo was born in 1964 and is a native of Tokyo. At 18 years old, he began training at the Tosa (modern Kochi Prefecture) cuisine restaurant Neboke, located in Akasaka. After that, he moved to New York and gained experience as head chef at a branch of the long-standing sushi restaurant Hatsuhana. He also worked at a popular Japanese restaurant in Manhattan.
