Hakata
An energetic city Fukuoka is the center of the politics, economy, culture and fashion of Kyushu area. Also it's a doorway to Asia, the airport provides many international flights as well as a great accessibility to the center of the city. The city satisfies your stomach with the street stalls in Tenjin/Nakasu/Nagahama areas and a variety of restaurants in the downtown areas, including Hakata ramen, giblet hotpot and mizutaki, a one-pot dish cooked at the table. You can enjoy the beautiful nature and scenery at Uminonakamichi Kaihin Park and Ohori park, and feel the history and traditions at many shrines and temples such as Kushida Shrine. There are many festivals such as Hakata Dontaku in May and Hakata Gion Yamagasa in the summer. You can enjoy shopping at Tenjin, Hakata or bayside area with many shops including fashion-related shops and variety stores.
