Ma's Chinese Restaurant Hakata specializes in delicious, authentic Chinese home food. With lines out the door even in Taiwan, JIN DOU ROU KITTE Hakata is known for their [Thin Skin Soup Dumplings] and delectable [Oolong Soup Dumplings], which are made by kneading premium Taiwanese oolong tea leaves into the dough. What makes their dumplings special is the umami-rich, meaty soup that can be seen bubbling out of the incredibly thin skin. They can also be easily picked up with chopsticks. The [Shrimp Gyoza], filled with a delicious shrimpy flavor, is another recommended dish. 5. Temujin City Dining Kuten Branch

This restaurant is known for its light and healthy gyoza, which have a lot of secrets behind them. These delectable dumplings are filled with plenty of vegetables as well as ground beef instead of the more traditional pork, which makes them taste better. Also, the dumplings contain just the right amount of garlic, so you can eat as many as you want without any unpleasant aftertaste. Serving sizzling hot gyoza prepared using traditional techniques, Asahiken is a famous gyoza restaurant that started off as a food cart in 1954. With a crunchy exterior and a juicy filling made with 14 different ingredients, these dumplings are so addictive that once you take a bite, you can't stop eating them. Even better, they don't contain a lot of garlic, making them easy to eat. This restaurant offers take out and delivery as well, so you can enjoy their delicious dumplings at home as well. Another highly recommended dish is their famous [Chicken Wings], marinated in their specialty soy sauce that takes a whole day to prepare. On weekends, they sell over 5,000 wings a day! This restaurant is always bustling with businessmen and families.

7. Hakata Gion TETSUNABE

TETSUNABE is known for their exquisite gyoza prepared in an iron pot. The gyoza are stuffed with both filling and love. Served in the same pot they're cooked in, the dumplings come to the table sizzling hot and delicious, with an irresistible crispy outside. The restaurant only handmakes the dumplings using filling prepared with ingredients procured the same day. The gyoza are prepared by a husband and wife team. One stretches dough into dumpling wrappers, the other wraps the filling, and both pour their love into their work. This restaurant also has a delicious house yuzu-pepper dipping sauce that goes amazingly well with the gyoza. It is recommended that you visit this place during their off-times, as there is typically a long wait to get in.
