Top 20 Japanese restaurants favored by the Foreign Visitors from January to June 2018
Surprisingly, 11 restaurants that has made it to the Top 20 is Yakiniku and Teppanyaki (ingredients roasted on a hot steel plate) restaurants, preparing the dishes with high-quality Wagyu (Japanese beef). On top of this, many Kaiseki and Sushi restaurants ranked in, using fresh and seasonal ingredients.
Aside from preparing outstanding dishes, these restaurants have a shared quality of Omotenashi (spirit of hospitality). Their resulting ranks are attributed to their strong sense of missions: “We want the foreign visitors to recognize the taste of Japanese cuisine” and “Since they have traveled all the way to Japan, we want to provide dishes and services that will linger on their memories.” Moreover, multilingual menus and staffs protect the guests from having unpleasant experiences. Please consult to these Top 20 restaurants, when searching for a place to dine in Japan. 2. En, Kyoto
Dishes prepared from scratch. Chef’s highly sophisticated senses forbid other restaurants to outstrip En.
After being trained at many well-established restaurants, a chef named Takeo Suzuki opened his restaurant in 2008 at Kyoto, locating near Kyoto Gyoen. The restaurant’s size is humble, with seats amounting to only 7, which is within his sight range to provide the guests with special Omotenashi care. His aim is not for unusualness, but instead for a skillful handicraft. With his creed, “meals should be cooked with honesty,” his dishes might appear rather straightforward. However, the exquisiteness of each ingredient and uncompromising cooking make En a popular restaurant.
