All of the private rooms in the refined, Japanese-style interior of the restaurant are outfitted with seats, so guests don't have to sit on the floor. This long-established Kyo-kaiseki (Kyoto-style kaiseki) restaurant has a history spanning more than 120 years. While this place is known for its "kasho," a rooftop dining space from which you can see the restaurants and tea houses upstream along the river, their private rooms with horigotatsu are also popular for their relaxing atmosphere. The standard item to order here is the [Kyo-kaiseki] (7,560 JPY), an excellent course meal consisting of high-quality seasonal ingredients prepared in ways that best accentuate their umami (Japanese savory taste). You can dine on kushiage (fried skewers) made from seasonal ingredients at this restaurant. There are private rooms that can accommodate 6 - 16 guests, and semi-private rooms that can seat up to 5. The kushiage are fried in a specially blended vegetable oil, which gives them a light taste that allows you to keep eating them, one after another!
