Today, Ishizaki is a teppanyaki (ingredients grilled on an iron griddle) steak restaurant where the carefully selected Kuroge Wagyu (type of high-quality beef) is cooked by the chef on an iron griddle right before your eyes, adjusted to your preferences and the pace of your meal.
The [Gyu no Yakishabu] is a dish where thinly sliced beef is quickly cooked on a hot plate. This menu item is especially popular with regulars! The [Cold Roast Beef], in which a chunk of meat is cooked on an iron griddle and sliced, is yet another favorite. The [Shiretoko Beef Top Round Steak 100g] is an absolute must-try. The steak overflows with the rich flavor of the meat, and is truly the best way to enjoy such a rare cut. To further enhance the flavor of this lean cut, be sure to try it with mountain wasabi soaked in shoyu or salt. In addition to locally produced wine, there are over 40 types of junmai sake (Japanese alcohol, but with no added distilled alcohol) to pick from. They will select the best ones according to your preference.

The [Hokkaido Shiraoi-reared Kuroge Wagyu Sirloin Steak] is made with Shiraoi beef, a top-tier Hokkaido beef brand with excellent marbling. Aside from beef, you can also enjoy [Katsu Omaru Ebi] (live lobster), Akkeshi oysters, and other seafood. It’s a great place to enjoy the bounties of Hokkaido!

The top recommendation is their [Beef Tongue Steak Marinated in Hakodate Wine]. They have chosen a mild type of red Hakodate wine (one of the best Hokkaido wines) in which to marinate the meat, which is then grilled to perfection. Tender and juicy, the flavors are retained, while the combination of meat and wine produces a luxurious taste. Pair it with some wine for a complete experience! Do also try their curry, made with a recipe that was perfected by the first and second generation owners, as well as other dishes that use various ingredients, such as Hakodate-produced squid and Kodawari pork raised in Yakumo.

10. Wagyu Ishizaki

The different cuts of meat are served as yakiniku (Japanese BBQ). The [Thinly-sliced Rare Steak], made with delicious Ezo Tajima beef, is first grilled and then trimmed to remove the outer layers. While the word “steak” is usually associated with thick slices of juicy meat, the end result is more like sashimi! It is a tasteful dish that you can only have in a yakiniku restaurant.
The private rooms are also perfect for celebrating special occasions, such as anniversaries and birthdays.

The steakhouse uses specially selected, lean Hokkaido beef on the bone, and does the dry aging in the restaurant itself! The beef is usually served - still on the bone - on a large platter that makes it perfect for sharing. However, you can get it in smaller portions for lunch and enjoy it on your own.
The outer part of the steak is fragrant. With every bite, you get more of a fragrance that's distinct to dry-aged beef, along with the umami of the meat. You’ll also be able to enjoy a view of Odori Park (Odori Koen) while having your meal. With its elegant yet relaxing atmosphere, it’s ideal for important dinner appointments.
