This cafe specializes in healthy, egg-free donuts. Everyone is crazy about the donuts' chewy texture achieved by natural yeast! This is the first Kyoto branch of MICASADECO ＆ CAFE KYOTO, a pancake chain that's very famous in Osaka and Tokyo. When you enter this cafe, housed inside an old Kyoto merchant home built over 100 years ago, you'll find a well-lit and stylish 1st floor with pastel pink walls and a Japanese-style 2nd floor with a completely different atmosphere. Available only in the Kyoto branch, the popular [Kyoto Branch Original Matcha Pancakes] (1,450 JPY) are made by mixing matcha into the batter. This Japanese cafe is established in a renovated warehouse within a Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings. In its atmospheric interiors, you can relish carefully-made Japanese tea accompanied with several kinds of Kyoto-style sweets. The most popular one is called [Oborozuki] (600 JPY), a bowl of red bean soup with shiratama (rice flour dumpling) and fragrant matcha. The [Kanbayashi Shunsho Honten "Biwa no Shiro" Gateau Opera in a Karensui Style] (700 JPY), where the dessert is laid out to look like a dry landscape garden, and the [Fragrant "Hojicha Tiramisu" Black Tea] (700 JPY) are equally delicious!
