[anchoa] offers a modern take on traditional Spanish cuisine, showcasing the creativity of the owner-chef. You can enjoy two types of courses: 'Basque Regional Cuisine,' which captures the essence of a gourmet city, and 'Degustation,' which presents flavors from all over Spain in a modern style.
Inside the store, where soft sunlight streams in, there are counter seats at the open kitchen and three table seats. There are also table seats prepared by the calm window side, partitioned for privacy. The wine selection includes a comprehensive range from all over Spain, starting with the slightly sparkling wine from the Basque region, 'Txakoli'. 5. Kita Kamakura [Kitakamakura En]
Kaiseki cuisine passed down through two generations, preserving the taste of a renowned restaurant. The location is also excellent.
Despite its location right in front of JR Kitakamakura Station, Kitakamakura En offers a serene atmosphere. This kaiseki restaurant is run by a parent and child duo, both of whom honed their skills at the renowned Japanese restaurant Tsujitome. Enjoy exquisite dishes that bring out the best of the ingredients, including appetizers, grilled items, and simmered dishes, all crafted with the expertise of skilled artisans.
Beyond the window of the table seats, which do not let you feel the hustle and bustle outside, lies the Shirasagi Pond in the Engakuji Temple grounds, where hydrangeas are in full bloom. The atmosphere, integrated with the surrounding temples, is a unique charm of the ancient city of Kamakura. In addition to the antiques used by the landlady's father, the presentation of the dishes is enhanced by Arita and Kyo ware, as well as Kamakura-bori trays, all of which add to the elegance.
