Michelin Guide Kyoto-Osaka 2025 Announced with a Record 469 Restaurants Listed
On March 27, 2025, the Michelin Tire Company of Japan announced the "Michelin Guide Kyoto-Osaka 2025," which introduces carefully selected restaurants. The 16th edition of the Kyoto-Osaka version features a record number of 469 restaurants, with the number of three-star establishments remaining at 8 in total for both Kyoto and Osaka, and 3 new two-star restaurants have been added. Additionally, two new Michelin Green Stars have been awarded, including the world's first Michelin Green Star for ramen. There are 4 new Bib Gourmand selections, and for the first time, a mentor chef has emerged from Osaka.

Michelin Guide Tokyo 2025: A New Three-Star Restaurant Emerges in Tokyo, the City Ranked First for 18 Consecutive Years!
On October 17, 2024, the Michelin Guide announced "Michelin Guide Tokyo 2025," showcasing selected restaurants and dining establishments in Tokyo. This year, new three-star, two-star, and one-star restaurants have emerged, continuing to symbolize the evolution of a world-leading gourmet city. The total number of restaurants featured this year is 507, with 64 new entries. New Michelin Green Stars and restaurants offering dessert courses have also been introduced.

Sushi Yu Tsumugi Emerges, Inheriting the Legacy of Michelin-Starred Sushi Yuu, on the Site in Roppongi
On December 8, 2023, the popular sushi restaurant with one Michelin star, "Sushi Yuu," relocated to Ginza. In its place, a new establishment named "Sushi Yu Tsumugi" was born, serving as a place for nurturing young talents. Behind the counter stands the young chef Kazuki Tahara, who honed his skills at three establishments: "Sushi Yuu," "Sushi Zai," and "Sushi Yu Tsubasa." We had visited "Sushi Yu Tsumugi," where they offer an "Omakase" experience, including drinks, at a reasonable price of 16,500 JPY.

Michelin Guide Tokyo 2023 Announces 18 New Starred Restaurants
On November 15, Michelin Tire Japan released "Michelin Guide Tokyo 2023," a guide to selected restaurants and eateries in Tokyo. 16 years after its first issue in 2007, this year's guide features 422 restaurants, including 200 starred restaurants, 222 Bib Gourmand restaurants, and 55 newly listed restaurants. The number of newly listed restaurants is 55, including both starred and Bib Gourmand restaurants. The Michelin Green Star to highlight sustainable businesses, the Mentor Chef Award, and the Service Award were also selected.
