Michelin Guide Kyoto-Osaka 2025 Announced with a Record 469 Restaurants Listed

The 2025 Michelin Guide for Kyoto and Osaka features a record 469 restaurants, including three newly awarded two-star establishments, two new Green Star restaurants from Kyoto, and a mentor chef hailing from Osaka.

They are very pleased to announce the latest restaurant selection in Kyoto and Osaka, showcasing the largest number of restaurants to date. This demonstrates that both cities have a deep understanding of excellence and continue to push the boundaries of fine dining. As three restaurants have achieved two stars, they are raising the standard of gastronomy while preserving the tradition of hospitality that transcends time. At the same time, with [milpa] receiving a star as Japan's first Mexican restaurant, Kyoto and Osaka continue to embrace new concepts, making them unmissable culinary destinations for travelers visiting Japan.
