The northernmost point of the Japanese archipelago is Hokkaido, a treasure trove of seafood and agricultural products. An authentic Japanese restaurant located on the B1F of the Osaka-Shochiku-za Theatre, a theatre that stages traditional Japanese performing arts such as Kabuki. Three types of [Kangeki Bento] (1,300 JPY - 2,500 JPY) are sold during the intermission and they are all so popular that they all sell out fast! The lunch sold inside the restaurant itself is also highly recommended. This restaurant stocks whole [Ozaki Beef] (Ozaki-gyu) from a farm with over 35 years of experience breeding this particular breed of cattle, which is only bred in Miyazaki Prefecture, one of the southernmost prefectures of Japan. Ozaki beef can be characterised by the way it is refreshing and not too fatty. Namba Kouroan is a Japanese restaurant in Hotel Ichiei, which is directly connected to Namba station of Osaka Municipal Subway. The specialty of this restaurant is [Warayaki], where ingredients are flame grilled on highly thermal straw until the surface becomes crispy. Gozafuku is a blowfish and crab specialty restaurant. As the internal organs of blowfish contain poison, only chefs who hold a special licence, such as the one at this restaurant, are able to cook and prepare it to ensure the safety of all customers. The sashimi is cut so thin it looks almost transparent in [Iki Tessa], a dish of sliced raw blowfish. Customers can enjoy blowfish in a variety of other ways too, such as chunks of blowfish meat in the [Iki Tecchiri] dish, [karaage] (deep-fried), or as full-course cuisine. This izakaya is near Ebisu Bridge (Ebisu-bashi), which crosses the Dotonbori River (Dotonbori-gawa), flowing through the heart of Namba. Although the majority of seating available is in private rooms, anyone would be happy to sit at the cute available bench tables for 2, as well as the relaxing horigotatsu (sunken kotatsu table), which can sit a minimum of 4 people. A number of local Osakan specialties are recommended, including the [Osaka Meibutsu Doteyaki] (salty-sweet stewed beef tendon). Chikuchikuya is a Japanese restaurant that has the exterior appearance and the soft, relaxing interior of a traditional Kyoto townhouse (merchant house).
