[Restaurant ONOMICHI LESPOIR du CAFE] was founded in 1987. The owner chef, Mr. Koizumi opened a small restaurant of 56m2 in Mishima at the age of only 24, aiming for [a restaurant that can make people happy]. Then in 2000, the restaurant was relocated to the current location. A red brick seaside warehouse was renovated into a sophisticated restaurant with 135 seats. However, they still serve the same tastes, and therefore the guests of 3 generations can enjoy together the same menu since the restaurant was founded, for example [Japanese Beef Hamburger Steak] served with their original soy sauce-based sauce, and [Home Made Cheese Ice Cream]. They offer French courses starting from a reasonable price for both lunch and dinner. [3 Assorted Desserts], the assortment of 3 different desserts you can directly select from a show case, is also very popular.

Their red eggs, produced in a lush mountain environment, have richly densely flavored yolks. To match their rich flavors, the chef uses seasoning and concentrated bonito soup stock that is darker than typical preparations, also using more than usual, for a fluffier omelet texture. They carefully select the best seasonal fish caught in Hiroshima waters, buying from selected fishmongers only. Their "omakase nigiri" sushi and classic "medium Toro" usually feature the best natural tuna available, but quantities available might be limited. Timing is of the essence, as you will see with the "omakase” (chef's choice) menu, where they serve dishes gradually, adapting to your pace and choosing the perfect time to offer the most recommended dishes-after you’ve already eaten a little but are not too full yet-so you can enjoy their delicious flavors in the best conditions. Their restaurant, popular for dating and dining with close friends, offers a variety of dishes and a wide assortment of wines guaranteed to please any oenophile. There are many tourist attractions nearby, making it a good lunch base for tourists.

This restaurant, originally a stall, was established in 1950, and after years of trial and error, they arrived at the current style. The restaurant is known as the origin of Hiroshima okonomiyaki. They are proud of the traditional flavor, and they welcome you to visit and try for yourself. Ingredients such as cabbage, pork, and noodles are combined with the original sauce to create a unified dish that allows you to fully enjoy the flavor of each ingredient.
