Namba is located in "Minami" , which is one of Osaka's two major city centers. Namba is an area full of top-quality restaurants. Here are the top 15 of those restaurants, as rated by the popular Japanese gourmet website hitosara.
The Osakan specialty of [Kushiage (Kushikatsu)], consists of bite-sized chunks of beef or vegetables on skewers, dredged in breadcrumbs and then deep fried. Rokukakutei has a particular course menu where one skewer is served at a time. The finely ground breadcrumbs are crispy, and each skewer is fried at in an original mixture of oil at just the right temperature. This restaurant thoughtfully serves the freshly fried skewers on bread to ensure that they don’t get cold before consumption. A sommelier is also on hand to help with wine selection.

2. Naniwa Kappo Kigawa
Naniwa Kappo Kigawa is a well-established restaurant that has been serving [Osakan Cuisine] for over 50 years. Unlike Kyoto’s Cuisine where the original flavors of the ingredients are enhanced and elevated, Osakan cuisine is more flexible, and can adapt to suit the palates of the individual diners. This restaurant refrains from using traditional Japanese cooking techniques, opting instead to incorporate French cooking techniques to create a unique and charming food selection. The boiled items of this restaurant are especially delicious due to the way that the chef treats the Ma-kombu (kelp from Hokkaido) used for the dashi (broth). If you want to relax and watch the skill of the chef as he prepares your food, then the counter seats on the 1F are highly recommended. Private rooms are available on the 2F and 3F.
